June Events!

Cattyshack has several events in June that we have to tell you about!

First we have Introverts Night Out! Your time has come to sit with kittens, play with kittens, read a book while being crawled on by kittens (and cats), and just enjoy not having to be social. Reservations can be made at https://www.zeffy.com/en-US/ticketing/april-11-introverts-night-out

Next we have Kitten Yoga! join us for restorative yoga twice this month. The yoga is for you, but the kittens and cats can help relax and enjoy the experience. We also have our once yearly event KITTYPALOOZA coming to you. This event is one of our biggest fundraising events of the year! We will have art, baked goods, and merch for sale. Other rescues will be there with their adoptable kitties. We will have a meet and greet with a wonderful children’s book author. We will have 20 minute kitty snuggles in the lounge. Our award winning Cherry will be there for a meet and greet and she will be signing pictures. Plus, so much more!

Our online art auction will begin on June 14th. You can see the art on the first floor of Lowe Mill – it is called The Feline Gaze: Art for and by cats. Our closing ceremony for this will be on July 12th. You can check out our facebook page for the link to the auction.

The Cattyshack Book Club is Coming!

Join us as we take a dive into the world of Basgiath War College at our inaugural event for the Cattyshack Book Club! We will be discussing the first two books in the ongoing Empyrean series – Fourth Wing and Iron Flame by Rebecca Yarros. Next month we will be discussing the newest book!

The book club is January 17th from 7-9pm. You can bring your own drink as long as it is not in a glass container and has a lid. No food is allowed.

Space is limited to 15 people, so register soon. And do not forget to wear your rider black!

Auction Featured Artist of the Day

Our last artist feature is another Lowe Mill Artist with a studio called Symmetrical Universe.

Symmetrical Universe is run by the artist Steve Pitts, who creates all of the work you can see in his studio. The studio is on the second floor of Lowe Mill in studio 2051. Steve draws all of his work with a Radiograph pen which is a technical pen often used by engineers, architects, and drafters, and often uses an ink cartridge rather than refillable tubes. His art is all very sleek and several are fine lined. He has a variety of different types of work ranging from architectural places to machines to mandellas. Steve Pitts has donated several items to the auction and we are happy to feature him in our blog.

Auction Featured Artist of the Day

Today we want to focus on someone who seems to specialize in big cats and the female form.

We received donations from the artist Briana Zierman-Felix. She used to have a studio on the first floor but moved up to the second so she could have more space, and everyone is lucky she moved. She has so many original paintings that moving to a bigger studio helped get everything she had seen. Her art is powerful and passionate and all of it evokes a feeling, what that feeling is will be up to the viewer of the art.

Auction Featured Artist of the Day

The artist for today is actually a group of sisters. They donated several different items to the medical fund auction, and their studio has so much great art to see that I highly suggest you go and see it.

Cre8tive Sistas Studio is located in the Lowe Mill Arts and Entertainment building in studio 262 and 263 on the second floor. The “sistas” create art out of reused, recycled, and repurposed materials. What this means is that often you will not see the same art pieces and every piece will be unique. They also delve into a variety of genres, including one of my favorites – steampunk! You can check them out at their studio or head on over to their Facebook page – Cre8tiveSistas.

Auction Featured Artist of the Day

We have so many great artists and vendors that have donated to our online medical auction, so it is hard to choose who to feature in these daily posts! On the last day of the auction we will be posting a list of every artist who donated and their website or social media.

Today we want to shine a spotlight on Delta Dogwood Studio. Delta Dogwood Studio is located in the Lowe Mill Arts and Entertainment Building, in studio 2047. Artist Stephanie Flier is the artist and all her prints are hand inked and printed, making them especially delightful.

Cattyshack Online Silent Auction Begins Today

Cattyshack Inc. is hosting an Online Auction to get your holiday shopping off to a great start! Watch this spot to see some of our auction items and to meet some of the artists who donated!

Cattyshack is hoping to raise funds to help support our medical needs. We are currently taking care of several kittens with Feline Infectious Peritonitis and the treatment is costly, as are the vet visits. We are also hoping to build an emergency medical fund for other issues that might arise.

Most of the items listed here are from Lowe Mill artists and vendors! If you like what you see, feel free to check out their studios at Lowe Mill and follow them on social media!

We thank everyone for their support, and we thank every artist for their donations.

The auction starts on Cyber Monday, December 2 and will end a week later on December 8.

Items are available for preview now, as we add more to our auction. Official bidding begins Monday, December 2. Any bids made before that date will not be counted.

Bidding ends Sunday, Dec. 08 at 6pm.
