June Classes! Our first class starts June 18th.

Starting June 18th we are going to be having classes at the Cattyshack Lounge. The classes will cover cat care, fostering, what to do if you find a cat, how to handle bottle babies, what to do if you find a feral cat, cats basics (how to tell if a cat is male or female, claw clipping, how to tell if a cat is sick), showing a cat at a cat show, and much much more.

Our first class is June 18 and it has several different time slots. The first class is all about Fostering – and it is titled Fostering 101.

The class will detail what it means to be a foster, what it is like fostering with Cattyshack, what a foster does, and answer some of the time old questions fosters get – like how do you let any of the cats and kittens that you bring in your home to foster go?!?!

Registration for each session is limited to 12 people. Come prepared to learn, and if interested we will fill out foster applications.

Drinks are allowed as long as they are in a non glass container with a lid. Please bring a folding chair just in case a class fills up. Class is open to anyone who wants to know more about fostering, but all children must be accompanied by an adult. Tickets are $15 each, and we are going to use the money we earn from our classes to help us buy a couple of incubators so we can hopefully save more bottle babies (a bottle baby is a kitten who is between 1 day and 4 weeks old who does not have a mother).

You can make a reservation at the following link https://www.zeffy.com/en-US/ticketing/fostering-101-class

Lego here was one of our April/May Bottle babies. Your donations to our classes will help us save more like her.

Do you need some stress relief?

Cattyshack, Inc, has a lounge that you can visit at Lowe Mill. The lounge is open Thursday-Saturday, and reservations can be made by going to “Make a Reservations” on our homepage. Thursdays are a great day to come as we are not super busy and the cats are not yet over being there. You can also make a private reservation and the lounge is open for birthday parties!

The Cattyshack lounge is a great place to destress with a purring cat on your lap or playful cat entertaining you. The lounge is also a great place to get away from any issues you are having with the world – whether it be life, relationship, world issues, work, or just getting out of your own head (like the author of this blog). Even if you have your own cats at home, sometimes is it nice to get out of the house or away from your problems, and our rescues always need socialization with all kinds of people (friendly, calm, upbeat, children).

Every now and then there is also a person available on Wednesdays (no cats or very few cats). That person is there to help with filling out the adoption form on the website, answer questions about the lounge or the cats, answer questions about fostering, selling merch, and helping with whatever cat questions you might have that they have the answers to.

So, visit the Cattyshack Lounge and make a new friend, human and feline!
