Hello out there in internet land! We here at Cattyshack have so many things going on this December, and one of the biggest things is our Holiday Auction!

Coming soon to a computer near you is our Holiday Auction! Our auctions help provide medical care to those cats and kittens in need and to help spay, neuter, and care for the cats and kittens in our care. Supporting our medical funds is a huge deal as this is where most of the rescue money goes! We will have three pages linked to our auction because we have had so many wonderful pieces of art, handmade items, and donated goods in the auction. Starting December 6th and ending December 20th, you can get to the auction using the link below! Any bids made before December 6th will be deleted so make sure to wait to bid on all of our awesome items!

October Book Club!!!

2024 Logo

We will be reading the final installment of the Assistant and the Villain series, Accomplice to the Villain by Hannah Nicole Maehrer.

Synopsis to the book: REWARD OFFERED: Apprentice to The Villain wanted for treason (light), magical property damage (alleged), and one incident involving a weaponized scone (accurate). Frequently seen with a grumpy frog (crowned, judgmental). Answers to “Evie” or “Stop that.”

Evie Sage didn’t mean to become the right-hand woman to the kingdom’s most terrifying villain. One minute, she was applying for an entry-level position that promised “light paperwork and occasional beheadings,” and the next, she was knee-deep in magical mayhem, murder plots, and an entirely inappropriate crush on her brooding, sharp-jawed, walking disaster of a boss.

Now, with a magical prophecy unraveling, assassins showing up in the break room, and a suspicious amount of frogs wearing crowns, Evie has to figure out how to survive her job without setting the kingdom on fire, or her dignity, which is hanging by a very sarcastic thread.

Being evil-adjacent was never part of the five-year plan. But then again…neither was falling for The Villain.

Book club will meet on Friday, October 24 at the Cattyshack Lounge in Lowe Mill, Studio 1062, from 7-9pm. You can join us by using the link below.

September Book Club!!!

2024 Logo

September is here and what a better way to celebrate than read the book Apprentice to the Villain by Hannah Nicole Maehrer, the second book in the Assistant and the Villain series.

Synopsis of the book: NOTICE TO STAFF: There has been a disturbing increase in cheeriness, sprightly behavior, and overall optimism of late. Please resume your former dark, ominous terrors at your earliest convenience. ―Mgmt

Evie Sage has never been happier to be the assistant to The Villain. Who would have thought that working for an outrageously handsome (shhh, bad for his brand) evil overlord would be so rewarding? Still, the business of being bad is demanding, the forces of good are annoyingly persistent, and said forbidding boss is somewhat…er, out-of-evil-office.

But Rennedawn is in grave trouble, and all signs―Kingsley’s included―point to catastrophe. Something peculiar is happening with the kingdom’s magic, and it’s made The Villain’s manor vulnerable to their enemies…including their nemesis, the king.

Now it’s time for Evie to face her greatest challenge: protecting The Villain’s lair, all of his nefarious works, and maybe (provided no one finds out) the entire kingdom. No pressure, Evie.

It’s time to step out of her comfort zone and learn new skills. Like treason. Dagger work. Conspiring with the enemy. It’s all so…so…delightfully fun.

But what happens when the assistant to The Villain is ready to become his apprentice?

September’s book club will meet on September 26, at the Cattyshack lounge in Lowe Mill, Studio 1062, from 7-9pm. You can reserve your spot through the link below!

If you aren’t listening to WLRH 89.3 then what are you even doing?

They’ve supported us via advertising since day one, and we still have guests mentioning they heard our ads on their station five years later.

So, we just wanted to give them a shout out and say THANK YOU! Public radio is an invaluable resource, and they need community support too! Go check them out!

Kittypalooza!!!!

Our once yearly event KITTYPALOOZA coming to you. This event is one of our biggest fundraising events of the year! We will have art, baked goods, and merch for sale. Other rescues will be there with their adoptable kitties. We will have a meet and greet with a wonderful children’s book author. We will have 20 minute kitty snuggles in the lounge. Our award winning Cherry will be there for a meet and greet and she will be signing pictures. Plus, so much more!

June Classes! Our first class starts June 18th.

2024 Logo

Starting June 18th we are going to be having classes at the Cattyshack Lounge. The classes will cover cat care, fostering, what to do if you find a cat, how to handle bottle babies, what to do if you find a feral cat, cats basics (how to tell if a cat is male or female, claw clipping, how to tell if a cat is sick), showing a cat at a cat show, and much much more.

Our first class is June 18 and it has several different time slots. The first class is all about Fostering – and it is titled Fostering 101.

The class will detail what it means to be a foster, what it is like fostering with Cattyshack, what a foster does, and answer some of the time old questions fosters get – like how do you let any of the cats and kittens that you bring in your home to foster go?!?!

Registration for each session is limited to 12 people. Come prepared to learn, and if interested we will fill out foster applications.

Drinks are allowed as long as they are in a non glass container with a lid. Please bring a folding chair just in case a class fills up. Class is open to anyone who wants to know more about fostering, but all children must be accompanied by an adult. Tickets are $15 each, and we are going to use the money we earn from our classes to help us buy a couple of incubators so we can hopefully save more bottle babies (a bottle baby is a kitten who is between 1 day and 4 weeks old who does not have a mother).

You can make a reservation at the following link https://www.zeffy.com/en-US/ticketing/fostering-101-class

Lego here was one of our April/May Bottle babies. Your donations to our classes will help us save more like her.
