Volunteering

I don’t want to volunteer at a cat lounge” ~ No one ever!

Do you want to help rescue kitties but can’t foster? Are you considerate, able to greet people with enthusiasm, customer-service oriented, and not afraid to clean up poop and barf (the cat kind, not the human kind)… Then please continue reading…

We want to start off by saying that we are not trying to sound too picky with our requirements listed below, but due to past experiences, we have to have some ground rules. We realize finding a volunteer for our rescue is a blessing, and we appreciate your time, but this is a business that involves monetary transactions and serious customer services skills. With that being said, please know that if you show a genuine interest and commitment, we are looking into the ability to make this a paid position after a 6-month probationary period.

Eligibility Requirements:

You must be at least 18 years old.

You must be willing and able to eventually run the lounge without the owner being present (aka give the poor lady a day off!)

You will only select a time slot you can commit to!! (No-show or late is not an option).

You can commit to at least two days a month over the next 6 months. The shifts are 8 hours. This will give us time to train you and get you comfortable with being in the lounge without supervision.

Your job is to make sure the place stays clean, the guests are comfortable and enjoying themselves, and no kitties get hurt!

You are welcome to bring a book, laptop, phone, etc. to help pass the time between guests. (I mean, let’s be real. Obviously the kitties will come to you and want to be picked up, or held, or sit with you in the chair or on your lap, or climb on your laptop, and that’s fine… we just don’t want our volunteers to have toys out playing with a dozen kittens while our guests are sitting on the sofa all alone…)

Below is a Sign-Up Genius link where you can select multiple dates over the next few months. If it is the first time you are singing up, you will be emailed a protocol document that explains the day to day tasks and what to expect, so please check your spam folder.
